🍽️ Issue #43: Every copy. Signed by hand. ✍️

Friends - This weekend I did something I have waited a long time to do.

I sat down at my table & signed every preorder copy of Set Your Table.

Not a stack. Not a sample. EVERY ONE.

Each book got my hand on it. Each one got packed, boxed & carried to the mail…every one of them is or will be on its way to YOU by lunch 📦

I will not lie to you: it was a feeling I will not soon forget.

For two years this book lived in my head, on my screen, in a thousand drafts. This weekend it became real. Paper in my hands. A name on a label. A person on the other end who believed in this before there was anything to hold.

That person is you.

You did not just buy a book. You backed a mission. You set a table before the meal was even cooked and I will carry that a long way.

Here is the point. That line is not just a nice phrase. It is the whole idea.

In the book I call it the Table Principle. When you set your table before your guests arrive, you are not hoping for a good evening. You are making it inevitable. The right things in the right places, prepared in advance, so that by the time everyone sits down a good outcome is almost guaranteed.

That is exactly what happened this weekend.

I did not get lucky. I set a table two years ago: the drafts, the discipline, the people I let in. This weekend the payoff arrived in the form of real books going out to real people. Cause & effect. Preparation, then result.

That is the whole promise of this book. Set Your Table, & stop leaving your life to chance.

I trimmed down some footage from the weekend so you can see it for yourself — the moment I unpacked the first copies.

So watch for your package. When it lands, crack it open & let me know it arrived. I want to hear from you. 📬

And when you have read it, there is one more way you can stand with this mission.

Leave a review. ⭐

A few honest sentences on Goodreads help this book find the next reader who needs it. That is how a book travels: one reader telling the next that it mattered. Here’s the link!

Either one moves the mission forward. Both, if you are feeling generous.

Now the next mission.

This is the hard launch. The room. The people. The mission out loud.

If you are anywhere near the Texas Hill Country, come stand in that room with us. Bring your copy. Bring a friend. Bring the version of yourself that is ready to close the gap.

Brian Cook June 29th 🍽️ Issue #46: What I couldn't control on Saturday, & the 1 thing I could. Ali set a copy of my book in front of me Saturday & told me her father & I had been cadets together at West Point. He was class of '93, three years behind me; our years in the Corps overlapped, & we came up under the same gray walls. More than three decades since then. Now his daughter stood in front of me at Sea Shelves in Port Aransas, holding something I wrote, asking me to sign it. I signed it...

Brian Cook June 22nd 🍽️ Issue #45: Leave the Always-On Apocalypse on Shore Happy Father's Day to every dad in the Tribe. You showed up. You carried the load. Today, take a knee. Here's a hard truth for the dad stuck in a rut: the rut is comfortable. It asks nothing of you. One of my mentors used to say “A rut is just a casket with no ends.” That's exactly why it's dangerous. Set Your Table was built for that dad. It hands you a way to see where you are, name where you could be, & close the...

Brian Cook June 15th 🍽️ Issue #44: The Ripple Starts Thursday Think about the person who changed your life. Chances are they didn’t just impact you. They changed how you show up for everyone around you. That’s the ripple: your influence on one person becomes their influence on many. I learned this lesson the hard way, leading troops. West Point drills it into you on day one & every leadership course after: your people do what you DO, not what you say. Soldiers detect authenticity from a mile...
